Agnieszka Prusińska had been helping Angelique Kerber in the preparations for the prestigious Qatar Total Open 2013 tournament, where the 24 -year-old German player had lost the game in the second round with her opponent Mona Barthel. This week Kerber has moved to Dubai – where the Dubai Duty Free tournament is being held.

What is the work of Agnieszka Prusińska? – Before the tournament Angelique had had two workouts a day. I prepare a warm-up before each one and suggest some exercises. After the session there is time for therapy and stretching. In addition, we go through some more therapy or massage in the evening – says Agnieszka.

Angelique Kerber was born 25 years ago in Bremen. She was brought up in Germany, however, her parents come from Poland. Her grandfather had even built a Tennis Cente in Pruszkowo for Angelique, where she had trained between major tournaments. She also speaks Polish very well, and once as a junior, she was the Polish Champion up to 14 years of age – representing Olimpia Poznań at the time. Today she is the sixth racquet of the world, and in October last year, she managed to occupy the highest fifth place of her career. Kerber had reached the Grand Slam semi-finals twice – in 2011, at the U.S. Open, and at last year’s Wimbledon. In the latter, she had been defeated by Agnieszka Radwanska .
