Presentation of Rehasport Orthopedic Team’s Achievements at the Congress in Boston

Being recognized by the largest American arthroscopy association is a rare distinction. Dr. habil. Tomasz Piontek is well aware of this, as his team developed a method for meniscus regeneration using a collagen membrane several years ago. Now, at a major conference in Boston, they were invited to present the 10-year outcomes of that method.

For the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), the May congress in Boston was a special event. Each year, experts in this field of medicine gather in one place to discuss the most important issues. This objective guided the 2024 AANA Annual Meeting, which brought together hundreds of orthopedic specialists.

“This is the annual meeting of a huge organization that also cooperates with the Polish Arthroscopy Society. That collaboration was already evident last year when a large AANA delegation came to our congress in Gdańsk. But that doesn’t mean they are eager to invite just anyone to their own events. They selected ten presentations from around the world that they considered significant, and only then asked if they could be delivered at the congress. For us, it’s a real honor, and of course we were eager to take part,”
said Dr. habil. Tomasz Piontek.

Dr. Filip Jakubowski: "We have nothing to be ashamed of"
The Rehasport presentation covered the 10-year results of the meniscus regeneration method using a collagen membrane. Due to the simultaneous ESSKA Congress—Europe’s most important orthopedic event—in which Dr. habil. Tomasz Piontek was actively involved, the presentation in Boston was delivered by Dr. Filip Jakubowski of Rehasport and the Regional Hospital in Poznań.
