The agreement between both parties will run until the end of 2025. It ensures that young basketball players receive medical services related to musculoskeletal injuries, as well as diagnostics and rehabilitation support. Rehasport already provides similar care to over a dozen professional clubs across Poland, including basketball teams.
“You can't succeed in a team sport without real teamwork on the court. The same applies off the court—success depends on many factors, including proper medical support and ensuring athlete safety. We have extensive experience not only with professionals but also with children and youth transitioning to senior-level competition,”
explains Dr. habil. Tomasz Piontek, Vice President of Rehasport.
A Talent Factory from Poznań — Pyra AZS Trains Kids from the Ground Up
Pyra AZS Poznań was founded nearly 30 years ago by Tadeusz Dudziński, a passionate advocate for basketball. Over the years, young athletes from Poznań have won Polish Championship gold medals in various age groups—from mini-basketball to older juniors. Today, the most senior players compete at the adult level in Poland’s second division.
For the past six years, the club has also been collaborating with the Poznań branch of the Marcin Gortat Sports Mastery School, where around 200 boys train.
“We want to provide young athletes with crucial advice early on—so they can safely pursue their careers. We also aim to conduct evaluations that help identify body parts more susceptible to injuries,”
adds Dr. Piontek.
As part of the cooperation, selected players will undergo a Biomechanical Functional Assessment and body composition structural analysis.
In turn, Rehasport will receive the title of Official Medical Partner of the Pyra AZS Poznań basketball section.

“We are very excited about this cooperation. Our previous experience with Rehasport leaves no doubt that this is the best choice. We want to ensure our athletes have access to top-tier medical care and high-quality rehabilitation services. Rehasport is a leading clinic in Poland, with outstanding specialists in physiotherapy and sports medicine, as well as advanced medical infrastructure. Their knowledge and skills will undoubtedly help athletes recover faster from injuries and help prevent them through regular testing and physiotherapy support,”
says Dr. Krzysztof Karpowicz, President of the Basketball Section Board at Pyra AZS Poznań.
