Starogard Gdański has long been part of Poland’s top basketball league—and may soon return to the elite level. The newly formed partnership with Rehasport Clinic, now the Official Medical Partner of SKS Starogard Gdański, is set to play a small but important role in that journey. The agreement will be in effect until the end of July 2023, with the possibility of extension.
Jarosław Drewa: We’re Working with the Best Specialists in Poland
“I’m very pleased that we’ve secured such a strong partner. Rehasport is a highly respected name in the medical field, with many years of experience. They care for athletes at all levels. Thanks to this partnership, our players will undergo Biomechanical Functional Assessments and be under the care of some of the best medical professionals in Poland,”
says Jarosław Drewa, President of the Management Board of SKS Sportowa S.A.
“We’re excited to support one of the top teams in the Suzuki 1 League. We’ll do our part to ensure players are properly prepared and thoroughly assessed at the beginning of preseason. This can significantly reduce the number of injuries throughout the upcoming season,”
adds Dr. habil. Tomasz Piontek, Rehasport board member, who signed the agreement on behalf of the clinic.
Critical Testing During Preseason for the Kociewskie Diabły
A key element of the partnership is the Biomechanical Functional Assessment, which the players underwent in mid-August. This is a series of evaluations and diagnostic tests designed to identify and address so-called “weak links”—areas in the body prone to injury. These areas vary from athlete to athlete. The results also help coaches monitor and adapt training plans, especially in the case of post-injury rehabilitation.
In addition, Rehasport will provide medical care for musculoskeletal injuries, along with diagnostics and rehabilitation for the Kociewskie Diabły.
Rehasport: A Multidisciplinary Team of Medical Experts
The Rehasport Clinic team includes orthopedic surgeons, radiologists, sports medicine physicians, surgeons, internists, physiotherapists, as well as strength and conditioning coaches, biomechanists, psychologists, dietitians, and sports managers. Rehasport was the first clinic in Poland to receive the prestigious FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence certification.
