Rehasport Becomes Official Partner of the Polish Canoe Federation

The partnership agreement was signed in Poznań by Grzegorz Kotowicz, President of the Polish Canoe Federation, and Dr. Witold Dudziński, President of the Management Board of Rehasport. The agreement concerns medical care for athletes—particularly national team members—related to musculoskeletal injuries. The terms were agreed upon during the Canoe World Cup held on Lake Malta in Poznań.

Jakub Puchalski, Head of the Sports Department at Rehasport, and the leadership of the Polish Canoe Federation also participated in the signing.

“We are very pleased to welcome the renowned Rehasport Clinic among our partners. They employ top-class specialists, which guarantees excellent medical care for our athletes—and that is what we care about most. We’re on the eve of the Olympic Games, the most important event not only this year but since the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. I believe that thanks in part to our partnership with Rehasport, we will return from Paris not only with more medals but also in good health,” said Grzegorz Kotowicz, President of the Polish Canoe Federation.

Rehasport President: Canoeing Is a Medal-Winning Discipline at the Olympics

“Someone recently asked me which discipline brings us the most joy during the Olympics—in terms of medals. I immediately thought of athletics, which is true, but that answer deserves a little asterisk. Because as it turns out, canoeing has been delivering medals consistently for 36 years, ever since the Seoul Olympics,” said Dr. Witold Dudziński, President of Rehasport, who is also a passionate sailor and the team doctor for the Polish Sailing Association. Water sports are especially close to his heart.

“Hundreds of thousands of people are connected with kayaking, at least through its recreational form. It’s a fantastic way to actively spend free time, though on a professional level it requires exceptional physical preparation and mental resilience. Using our knowledge and experience, we’ll strive to support the Polish Canoe Federation with the latest advancements in sports medicine—perhaps contributing even a tiny piece that helps secure our first historic Olympic gold in canoeing in Paris,” he added.

As part of the partnership, Rehasport specialists will provide and coordinate medical care for Polish national team athletes, in cooperation with the Federation’s medical staff, especially for injuries related to the musculoskeletal system. Additionally, selected athletes will undergo comprehensive assessments through Biomechanical Functional Evaluation, with the full scope to be determined by national team coaches after the Olympic Games. It will likely include testing using the Biodex, Delos, and Gamma systems, FMS tests, Optojump analysis, and photogate timing systems.

The Rehasport Clinic team includes orthopedic surgeons, radiologists, sports medicine doctors, surgeons, internists, physiotherapists, as well as strength and conditioning coaches, biomechanists, psychologists, dietitians, and sports managers. The clinic was the first in Poland to receive the highest certification from the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence).

Rehasport is the Official Medical Partner of eight sports federations, including the Polish Handball Federation, the Polish Tennis Association, the Polish Sailing Association, and the Polish Rowing Association. It also provides care for medalists of world championships and the Olympic Games.
