Ireneusz BabiakPhD MD Ireneusz Babiak is an orthopedist. He specializes in treating motor organ diseases, including degenerative changes to hop, knee, shoulder joints and backbone as well as traumatic injuries and consequences of upper and lower limb injuries. He has over 28-years’ work experience gained in clinics in Poland, Switzerland and Sweden. An assistant professor and lecturer at the Department and Division of Orthopedics and Traumatology of I Medical Faculty of Medical University of Warsaw and English Division Medical Faculty University of Warsaw.

In Poland and Europe he is considered a specialist in the field of prevention and treatment of bone and joint infections, and in particular joint replacement infections and bone and joint infections. He is a member of the following scientific societies: EBJIS ( European Bone and Joint Infection Society ), PTOiTr ( Polish Orthopedics and Traumatology Society), SOF ( Svensk Ortopedisk Förening ), PTZS ( Polish Hospital-Acquired Infections Society).

He performs the following surgeries:
– Hip and knee replacement,
– Revision of hip and knee replacement due to loosening or infection,
– Correction of foot fingers, including “Halux”,
– Median nerve decompression in the carpal tunnel syndrome,
– Union of fractures in the area of limbs and bone adhesion surgeries,
– Reconstructions in case of bone and joint infections, including infection and loss of soft tissue disorders.

Education: PhD MD Ireneusz Babiak graduated from the Medical University of Wrocław in 1988 with honors degree. From 1989 he worked at the Orthopedics Clinic of Medical University of Warsaw. In 1992 he was granted a title of doctor of medical sciences, and in 1996 – specialist in the field of orthopedics and traumatology. From 1997 he was a head of the Division of Bone Infection in Orthopedics Clinic. In 2010 he was granted a title of the specialist in the field of orthopedics in Sweden and worked as a specialist in the Orthopedics Clinic of Regional Hospital in Karlskron in Sweden. In the years 2011-2014 he worked as a specialist in the Division of Spine Orthopedics and Surgery in Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center in Konstancin. In 2014 he was granted an academic degree of the habilitated doctor. Since 2014 he has been a head of Bone Infection Division in the WUM Motor Organ Orthopedics and Traumatology Clinic.
