At least until the end of year 2020, Rehasport Clinic is going to be a certified partner of the Australian Institute of Sport – an Australian sports organisation, which is responsible for promoting the most talented sportspeople from that country.
The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) — an Australian national sports institution with headquarters in Canberra, subordinate to the Australian Sports Commission, which is in turn subordinate to the government of Australia.
The aim of the AIS is a comprehensive, highest level help in the development of young, talented sportspeople who are already giving hope for achieving significant successes.
The AIS was established in 1981, just after the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, during which the Australian national team did not win any gold medals.
The institute employs over 190 people, including 70 coaches. Besides the coaching staff, the AIS employs a big number of specialists, who work in sports science and sports medicine. They work in the areas concerned with, among other things, sportspeople’s diet, performance analysis, physiology, biomechanics and condition.
The sports teams under the auspices of the AIS appear in the following national leagues: Victorian Premier League, Women’s National Basketball League, South East Australian Basketball League, A-League National Youth League and Commonwealth Bank Trophy.
